Change your local IP address, NetMask gateway ... settings to appropriate values for your location
NOTE: In V03 images use the MrAudrey Settings page to change the MisterHouse server setting
Also see New entries in the 'Other Settings of Interest' section on this page
The following section describes how to modify startup files that affect the opreation of the Audrey
Use Care, In most of these edits, you could mess up, and need to re-flash your unit. These are main system files,
and will change the way the system starts/behaves
The method for the editing any of the files all follow the basic ones in the Change the IP/Host Address section
- Rotate the Channel Knob to the 'Photon Session' this should get you to a blank Photon session with the menu bar showing
- alternately use the <paste><enter> and select 'Photon Session' from the pop-up menu
- Press the "+Photon" button in the lower left corner
- Select "File Explorer"
Using the left pane tap on the right arrow button next to the folder.
Select (tap) on the 'config' folder
In the right pane scroll down to the "MH_HostAddress" file and select it (highlighted)
- Select the menu item (at the top) File, then the selection 'Open With'
Type 'ped' in the dialog box followed by an <enter>
Now edit the file filling in the full URL to your MisterHouse server. This may need to be numeric.Close the file, be sure to save it !
ex . http://misterhouseserver.mydomain:8080
or http://192.168.0.5:8080
(note numeric almost always works, if you have problems with the name address try the numeric value)
about 4 seconds after the startup finishes, the filmstrip will pop-up and go to the MrHouse main page.
Supplimental Share tools,
- Around line 33 ("fs-nfs2 -a gnu:/home/audrey /mnt") controls where you have a common network share
(nfs in this case, but could be a win, nfs or other mount type {refer to QNX documentation for available types})
The Photon menu's control panel can be used to force these back in case they don't automatically connect at startup. Though you may need to edit the script that they fire off (especially for nfs shares) see below.
- The 2 fs-cifs (windows) shares are to allow the mp3 jukebox and the Picture Frame applications to access data from somewhere else besides the audrys internal (and limited) memory. These could be just as easily nfs shares.
- For NFS2 mounts you need to edit the shelf config and add your mount line to the command that is already there
(or add to windowshares.sh)- For Windows Shares, you need to edit the /kojak/windowshares.sh script. This can help if you need to connect shares that noy not be available at startup.
Locate the /config/startup-main and startup-warm files
comment out line 22 ( by using a # ) 'APP,NOWAIT,FOREVER,setitime' for the internet time (this will timeout)
and/or (I disable line 23 so she will always start even if the time server is down)
comment out line 23 'APP,NOWAIT,FOREVER,Time' for the Manual time entry
Located in the /config directory (same location/instructions as MH_HostAddress above)
* New settings for V03
SYSTEM_ScreenSaveSecs Screen saver time, set to 0 to disable
this is accessable from the Photon Control panel Blank0 (disable), Blank600 (10 minutes)
TimeserverX URL of time servers the system uses to set it's clock
(I change one to sync to a local timeserver I run internally)
MH_ClockPath* path to the misterhouse fullscreen clock, Put in in case we get another MH_RoomPath* path to the misterhouse Buttons group you want to set for a specific room (group)
This can be accessed through the MrAudrey Settings Screen
MH_PackageSrcURL*
the full URL to the Package managers default location
This can be changed if you wish to change the default repository
Press the filmstrip knob, this will show you the button assignments.
(this is now the Images automatic startup default, so just push the knob )
Be a bit patient, as this may take serveral seconds, as there are several support apps loading on the first access.
NOTE: the knob should work in both directions, as well as refresh (push). It has been reported, and I've experienced problems with the knobs. In my case it was due to cold solder joints on the motherboard for the selectior, I suspect that I may not be alone.
